A desire to work
When considering if Connect to Work is right for an individual, it is important to ensure that they have a desire to work at some point in the next 12 months. It doesn’t have to be in month one, two, or even three, but finding work must be part of their plan over the next year.
When on programme, we will nurture our participants and provide the necessary support to help them on the road to work. This support could be anything from housing to mental wellbeing. We will help our participants find the right job, not just any job.
Health focussed
For people with health conditions, the idea of work can bring all kinds of emotions. It can be anxiety-inducing, stressful or for some, it can bring hope and excitement.
Our team are equipped to deal with every emotion and combine employability expertise with wellbeing advice. We also work with a network of specialist health partners, relieving pressures on local GP surgeries and hospitals.
The individual’s health concerns and barriers are, with the individual’s permission/ at their request, communicated to our network of employers who are keen to offer opportunities to a potentially untapped market.
A different approach with continued support
Our low caseloads mean we can truly invest in our participants. With 12 months of support, our specialist and individual-led approach means we won't disappear when participants need us most. We offer ongoing, personalised support even after people start work, ensuring people can sustain employment. The idea of this continued support means GPs and health practitioners can feel confident in their referrals, and our service can ease their pressures while benefiting patients and participants.
