Pilot programme performing perfectly for Matthew

Matthew joined our Future Grow programme as part of our Triage Impact Pilots. These are a series of pilot programmes, enabling us to test ‘what works’ for key priority groups needing additional support to access employment or progress to other positive destinations.

In partnership with Darlington Primary Care Network, Future Grow helps people with long-term health conditions move closer to employment.

Pilot Facilitator, Angela Parry, helped Matthew with his social skills, anxiety, confidence and routine. “Matthew was keen to earn money and wanted support building a routine,” said Angela.

Having secured him a work trial, Matthew was feeling good:

“It’s good to be doing something, mixing with people and a good feeling of self-worth – I like the variation of work and talking to the customers,” said Matthew, who is now working part-time at the local post office.
